Job Description Summary:
CBRE shall be providing its client with Power and Cooling equipment purchasing and supply chain management support. The primary categories of mechanical and electrical equipment included are back-up power generators, generator enclosures, electrical switchgear, transformers, bus duct and mechanical cooling equipment.
Candidates with mechanical or electrical engineering background are preferred, but also candidates with prior knowledge of this type of equipment would be helpful to support day-to-day operations, large and complex project deployments, and will work across numerous customer teams.
The Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager will also provide the following Services:
Manage
legacy product iterations and releases for data center equipment through the client's New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Coordinating
details, such as lead times, delivery schedules, quantities and types of equipment between suppliers and contractors for Owner Negotiated - Contractor Procured (ONCP) and Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) programs
Add
vendors and new bank account information to the procurement system for payment processing;
Address
and resolve supplier invoicing issues between Accounts Receivable and/or Project Management teams
Draft
Purchase Order (PO) details and track POs within client's internal Project Information & Metric Management System (PIMMS)
Support
on Compliance, Deviations & Exceptions (CDE) reviews regarding tracking and closure on specifications and Services between suppliers, engineering and internal project management teams; and Procurement and supply chain support on spares requests from internal Data Center
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or some related technical field,
from four-year College and/or University
or have 5 year of commercial MEP equipment purchasing experience.
Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training. Minimum
five years experience in procurement of real estate or facility
management services and supplies.
Must have prior work experience with purchasing, sourcing, or purchasing of commercial mechanical and electrical equipment used in large construction projects.
Working Knowledge of Purchasing statistics: Work Load in/out, Individual Buyer Stat, PPV, and MRP Stats, and Contract Log.
Supply Management Certifications are preferred, but not required.
Accomplishments in handling diverse and complex sourcing transactions, negotiations, and contractual responsibility.
Must have strong technical skills and comfort using the following:
Power user of Google Applications; including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, GMail, and Hangouts (Google video conferencing)
Dashboard creation using Tableau or similar applications.
Comfort with frequent video conferencing
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M. certifications or eligibility preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and
analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and
courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present
information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to
calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and
commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to
solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires
advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of database
reporting and platform manipulation. Familiarity with use of contracts
management tools and platforms.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and
business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may
cause short-term impact to department.
