Job Description 1st Shipping Assistant

This position is responsible for making sure trucks are correctly docked and loaded and for keeping track of what is pulled out of freezer inventory and shipped out. The shipping assistant is responsible for signing drivers in and making sure they are docked at the right door. The clerk is also responsible for telling the driver what temperature to run their units at and for inspecting the integrity of the trailer to be loaded. Arrive time, load time, temperature and the number of load locks, are all things that the clerk must record on the shipping log. The frozen shipping clerk supplies the forklift operators with a pick list of what is to be loaded on that truck. The shipping assistant develops the bills of lading for all truck shipments through the electronic manifest produced by the load Manifestor. This is done by verifying all pallet tickets received with the load Manifestor sheet. Basic computer skills,

Forklift experience and all other duties assigned.
