The Warehouse Attendant
is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material throughout the site using various pieces of equipment. The Warehouse Attendant will be responsible to keep accurate inventory balances while maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with established policies and practices.
Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Process receipts of purchase orders; count and check shipment for damage and verify items received conform to purchase order specifications and descriptions
Perform basic warehousing duties including; loading and unloading material onto or from pallets, racks, shelves, drawers by hand, opening containers, and install strapping
Ensure accuracy regarding data entry and maintaining of documents in system repositories
Arrange and organize products and materials in the warehouse
Take physical inventory by hand, counting or weigh counting and report findings in accordance with prescribed procedures
Operate forklifts, telehandlers and/or other machinery to handle products and materials in the warehouse
Ensure compliance of safety procedures and practices in the warehouse operations
Complete warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to the schedule for internal and external customers
Ensure work area and equipment are in good order and area is properly presentable after completion of work
Perform clerical tasks according to prescribed routines or as directed
Maintain strong relationships with vendors
Education/Experience Requirements:
Education:
Associates Degree in Business preferred, may consider equivalent experience
OSHA forklift certification preferred
Experience:
3-5 year’s warehouse experience
Experience with
; Class V Lift Truck (5k sit down forklift) and Class VII Lift Truck (10k Telehandler) preferred
Overhead crane and rigging experience preferred
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience; Ellipse preferred
Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret shipping and receiving documents such as packing slips, POD’s and BOL’s
Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to effectively manage multiple/changing priorities under supervision
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Competencies:
Ability to interpret maintenance manuals
Effectively communicate both orally and through written text
Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Physical Demands:
Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs
Required to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects
Mobility required; must be able to handle stairs and long periods of work on your feet, frequent bending, crawling, and sitting
May be required to climb ladders and work in restricted spaces and under difficult lighting
Routinely exposed to plant environment including noise, dust, dirt and vibrations, extreme climate changes / changes in weather
